SailGP Perth 2026 Ioana, 3 February 20263 February 2026 We didn’t really know much about SailGP prior to the event being held in Perth for the first time in January this year. So we didn’t buy tickets for the actual competition, we thought we’d see what the fuss is about and then we’ll decide for next year. The actual competition was on the 17th and 18th of January. We think Fremantle did very well as a host city and the event definitely brought a lot of activity and people there. We watched their practice early afternoon on Friday the 16th of January. The black camera helicopter stole the show a few times. We went back to Fremantle Port to watch them being pulled back up on shore. On Sunday the 18th of January we walked to Victoria Quay to watch them going back in the water and then saw them from the boat as well.
