Seal & Penguin Islands 2007

Ioana, 24 May 202619 July 2026

Just south of Perth, in the Shoalwater Islands Marine Park, Seal Island and Penguin Island are fascinating places to visit. While visitors can no longer land on Seal Island—probably just as well, considering the number of snakes that live there—you can still admire the Australian sea lions from a boat.

Penguin Island is famous for its little penguins, as well as its scenic beaches and walking trails. In recent years, however, it has become just as well known for the large number of pelicans that now call the island home.

These are some photos from our visit to both islands back in 2007.
