Route 66: Tucumcari to Santa Fe Ioana, 7 octombrie 202319 august 2024 First point of interest was Cuervo, a nearly-ghost town which was split in two by the i40. Then we drove past a few ruins and small bridges under the interstate to eventually reach Santa Rosa to see Bozo’s wrecking yard and museum (and meet Bozo to hear about his latest projects developing hot rods). We had a beautiful change in landscape as the road went as high as 7500 feet as we drove through Pecos Canyon, with beautiful views in all directions. Santa Fe is a place that we really enjoyed – the adobe buildings and the arty, relaxed atmosphere. We saw the “Miraculous Staircase” at Loretto Chapel, the Oldest house in Santa Fe (but its age is actually unknown) and some of the art galleries on Canyon Rd including an interesting Ukrainian one seeling some very different (and really expensive) pieces. After dinner we followed the crowd to get to the piazza where there was a gathering / exhibit of the local historic car club. A short video of the roads we drove today is here. 2023 Route 66 Travel USA
