Bucharest 2025 Ioana, 27 iunie 202528 iunie 2025 Some colourful pictures from around Bucharest. Mogosoaia Palace is about 10 kilometres from Bucharest and hosts an interesting museum. It was built in the late 1600s and bears the name of the widow of the Romanian boyar Mogoș, who owned the land it was built on.Mirroring the tumultuous history of Romania, the building was confiscated by the Turks in 1714 and converted into an inn, then rebought by the original family years later, but was damaged quite badly during the Russo-Turkish War of 1768–1774. It was renovated but damaged badly again in 1916, during the Romanian Campaign of World War I, when it was bombed by the German air forces. After 1945, the palace was nationalized by the communist authorities, and some of its art collections disappeared during this period. In 1957, it eventually became a museum. 2025 Bucharest Europe Photography Romania Travel
