Venice Padova Milano Verona Pisa Florence Rome

We visited some friends who live near Torino in February 2020, just as the COVID epidemic was starting. We flew to Milano and by the time we landed we were already aware of the increasing number of cases of coronavirus so didn’t spend a lot of time in the airport….

And some photos from a day trip to Lago del Miage, a glacial lake close to Mont Blanc. The Mont Blanc tunnel was still closed after the terrible fire the year before.

Venice looks very different in winter, when Piazza San Marco is flooded and tourists keep dry up on boardwalks.
